CS2 Dead Hand Update: 22 New Gloves & Terminal Skins Guide

CS2 Dead Hand Update: 22 New Gloves & Terminal Skins Guide

Valve has just released a game-changing update for Counter-Strike 2: The Dead Hand Update.

The developers have introduced a brand-new "Terminal" system (a modernized alternative to the traditional case) that drops not only weapon skins but also gloves. Yes, for the first time in CS2 history, we have been blessed with completely new, never-before-seen glove finishes! (Note: The update also included a quick tweak to the Dust 2 mid xbox, which the developers instantly rolled back, but the real star of the show is the loot.)

Here is everything you need to know about The Dead Hand Terminal, the new weapon skins, the groundbreaking gloves, and how to get your hands on them.

What is The Dead Hand Terminal in CS2?

Valve recently introduced "Terminals" to CS2 as an alternative to the traditional loot box mechanics. Instead of using a key to open a blind case, Terminals allow players to purchase skins directly using their Steam balance.

When you open a Terminal, you are offered a selection of five random skins. You can choose exactly what you want to buy from that selection. The new Dead Hand Terminal Collection utilizes this exact system, featuring 17 community-created weapon skins and 22 pairs of brand-new gloves.

How to Get the Dead Hand Terminal

The Dead Hand Terminal is obtained exactly like regular cases: through weekly drops. After filling up your weekly XP experience bar by playing the game, the Terminal has a chance to drop alongside your other random weekly rewards.

If you don't want to grind XP, the Terminal can also be purchased directly on the Steam Community Market or via third-party sites.

The Weapon Skins: Anime Glocks to Regal AWPs

The Dead Hand Collection boasts 17 skins created by talented community artists. The highlights of the Covert (Red) and Classified (Pink) tiers include the incredibly detailed AWP | Queen’s Gambit and the striking, anime-styled Glock-18 | Fully Tuned.

Here is the complete list of all 17 skins available in the collection, categorized from Mil-Spec (Blue) to Covert (Red):

  • AWP | Queen’s Gambit
  • Glock-18 | Fully Tuned
  • AK-47 | Crane Flight
  • P90 | Deathgaze
  • P250 | Kintsugi
  • Desert Eagle | Firebreathing
  • Galil AR | Galigator
  • M4A1-S | Electrum
  • MP7 | Amberline
  • MP9 | Urban Sovereign
  • Five-SeveN | Dark Polymer
  • M249 | Bock Blocks
  • M4A4 | Zubastick
  • PP-Bizon | RMX
  • Sawed-Off | Fusion
  • UMP-45 | Fragment
  • USP-S | Silent Shot

TheMain Event: 22 Brand-New Gloves

In addition to the weapon skins, the new Terminal includes twenty-two pairs of glove skins. What makes this update so special is that these aren’t just recycled patterns applied to existing gloves—these are fully-fledged, standalone finishes.

From the fiery design of the Blaze gloves to the fresh colors of the new Tortue variants, there is something for every inventory aesthetic.

Here are all the new gloves introduced in the update:

  • 🥊 Sport Gloves: Blaze, Creme Pinstripe, Frosty, Occult, Red Racer, Ultra Violent, Violet Beadwork.
  • 🥊 Specialist Gloves: Big Swell, Blackbook, Chocolate Chesterfield, Cloud Chaser, Lime Polycam, Pillow Punchers, Sunburst.
  • 🥊 Driver Gloves: Brocade Crane, Brocade Flowers, Dragon Fists, Garden, Hand Sweaters, Plum Quill, Seigaiha, Wave Chaser.

Pricing and the "Original Owner" Status

Because Terminals allow you to buy skins directly with Steam balance, Valve determines the initial price of the items. While the exact algorithm Valve uses to evaluate costs is unknown, the gloves from the Dead Hand Terminal are surprisingly accessible.

Initial reports show some gloves listed for $200, while top-tier patterns hit $500. (Note: Because of Steam wallet limits, no item offered in a Terminal can cost more than $2,000). Judging by previous Terminal releases, these prices could fluctuate and drop as the market stabilizes.

Furthermore, any gloves purchased directly from the Dead Hand Terminal (and The Arms Dealer) are granted a special "Original Owner" status, adding a unique flex for collectors.

Can You Use Dead Hand Skins in Trade-Ups?

Yes. The Dead Hand Collection fully supports the CS2 trade-up contract system.

Even though the collection is distributed via the Terminal store interface rather than traditional key-and-case unboxings, the backend treats these items exactly like case skins. All standard trade-up rules, float value calculations, and probability mechanics apply.
